Man, 60, who was beaten and stabbed to death by train in Australia dies in hospital

A 60-year-old man who was stabbed to Death on a railway track in Melbourne’s south has died in hospital.

The man was found at about 8:00am on Sunday morning.

He had suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

The incident happened at a railway crossing near the junction of the M4 and the M6 at the edge of the city.

Mr McGlashan had lived in the suburb of Goulburn for the past six years, the Met Police said in a statement.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

He was known to local residents and police had advised residents to stay away from the area.

The Metropolitan Police have issued a red alert for anyone in the area, warning people to avoid the area if they feel they are in danger.
